Lussemys in the Gothenburg archipelago

2025
Lussemyspaddling with accommodation, sauna, sea bathing and food at Nimbus Öckerö!
Saturday 13/12 to Sunday 14/12
An exclusive Lucia weekend where the sea offers unique experiences!
Imagine kayaking in the sea in the middle of December! And imagine taking a bath in the sea, enjoying a delicious soup and then settling down in a freshly made bed in a cottage right by the sea. And there, in the beautiful view, you can finally enjoy a delicious breakfast.

Well, in the middle of the darkest time, there is still light (the Queen of Light usually makes sure of that), at least for a few hours... That's when we set out! Together with Nimbus Öckerö , we offer a unique and exclusive nature experience in the archipelago. At 11.00 on Saturday we gather at Hälsö, kattfotsvägen 5, to start the Lucia weekend with a kayak trip of about four hours. A Certified Nature Guide and trained kayak leader will take you out among the islets on the west side of Hälsö. We start from the participants' prior knowledge and adapt the tour accordingly. During the tour we paddle close to land and experience the unique nature above and below the surface. At this time of year, a trip in a kayak on an otherwise almost empty western sea is usually experienced as particularly exclusive. Somewhere along the way we make a stop for a coffee break. After the kayak trip, it's time for a warming soup dinner at Nimbus and in the evening darkness you can end the day with a sauna bath and a dip in the sea. The next morning, Nimbus offers a delicious breakfast buffet before it's time to check out.
This includes:
* kayak with canopy, paddle, life jacket
* dry suit, neoprene shoes and gloves
* certified nature guide and kayak instructor
* coffee on the kayak trip
* Transfer to Nimbus
* Accommodation in a cabin at Nimbus Öckerö
* sauna with sea bath
* soup dinner
* breakfast
Price for everything: 2595 SEK per person, minimum 4, maximum 8 participants
Include:
* a dry change of clothes
* mittens, hat, warm jacket
* dress in wool and fleece, NOT cotton, in several layers
* sturdy shoes for walking on rocky ground

Alternative plan if the weather would pose a safety risk:
Of course, we hope that Lucia will offer one of those lovely, calm December days with clear skies and crisp air, but IF the weather would pose a safety risk, we need a B and a C plan. So if the forecast says "bad weather" on Saturday, but nice on Sunday, we will move the paddle to Sunday instead. This means that you have Saturday for "free play" (hiking along the Archipelago Trail, maybe?) before sauna, bath and dinner at Nimbus. If the forecast says "bad weather" on both Saturday and Sunday, we change the kayak trip to a guided hike with joint simple cooking outdoors. The hike then takes place on the day the weather is least "bad". We communicate and nail the plans with our guests via email or SMS no later than the Thursday before.
WELCOME TO BOOK!
